Shikha Harish earned her Masters degree in Psychology in 2006 from the Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. She later obtained a two-year diploma in Developmental Services Worker from Humber College, Toronto. This specialisation helped her to cater to the needs of individuals with special needs, learning disability and developmental disability.
She is a certified member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and subscribe to its code of ethics. She has been a clinician in Canada since 2011. She is a designated service provider for the Peel Children’s Aid providing services to children in care as well as parents involved with the Society. She provides psychotherapy (Court-Ordered/mandated) to individuals on Probation & Parole. As well, she provides services to individuals facing criminal charges. She is also a trained psychometrist and works in a Forensic clinic with a multidisciplinary team comprising of Psychiatrists, Psychologists and Social Workers.
As a Psychotherapist, she helps clients overcome struggles and develop better understanding of their difficulties. Her work in the community has allowed her to appreciate cross-cultural issues as well as other factors that can act as triggers for certain types of behaviour or personality issues. She adopts a cultural sensitive approach during psychotherapy to a wide range of clients across age groups, gender, race, language and sexuality. She integrates various therapy methodologies and latest techniques. She offers a personalized and individually tailored psychotherapy to cater the needs of her clients.
